The end of the year is always a good moment to look back and reflect, as well as look forward. In 2015, ECPYouth has gone through a number of changes. Besides welcoming new board members and a general secretary, we welcomed new member organisations such as SGPJ and new youth organisations were established in Croatia (Hrast Youth) and France (PCD Youth). During the Winter School in Soest, the Netherlands, the Summer School in Cambridge, UK and the Regional Conference in Amsterdam, the Netherlands we reflected upon how our societies are build in economic terms and how we can inspire and work towards sustainable economies centered around relationships and justice.
Also in Europe, many things happened. Economies are struggling, refugees are trying to survive and fear seems to be taking over the minds and hearts of many. European solidarity and collaboration is challenged. As Christian youth with a heart for politics, we should not let fear take over our actions. Let us remember this Christmas that our Hope and Faith rest in Jesus Christ:
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” – Isaiah 9:6
We would like to thank all our members, participants and anyone else that has been involved with ECPYouth this year. We are truly grateful that you are part of an inspiring and valuable network of young Christians in Europe. We wish you a Blessed Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
