In December, our board member Dimitri Bluashvili attended a training organised by PPCD, the Christian Demcratic People’s Party in Moldova. This training was especially focused on the youth of New Generation, the youth wing of PPCD. The training was titled: building a new political elite through Christian Democratic Values. Victor Ciobanu, PPCD, explains why a training like this is important:
Since 2009 Christian Democratic People’s Party is not represented in the Parliament of Moldova. In this period of time we passed a long way of re-branding, including the public position and message on different issues and changing leadership of the party. As a small party, we need to identify the correct way to spread our main message in order to have a unique and recognisable position in Moldovan society.
About 25 youth got together to talk about the challenges that youth in Moldova face and the questions that divide the Moldovan society: pro-Russia or pro-Europe? Dimitri spoke with the youth about the questions and problems that youth face. Dimitri says:
The main problems the youth of Moldova face are unemployment. As a result youth are leaving the country as well as parents searching for jobs abroad.
The training was very interactive and productive. We will continue to support the New Generation youth and work together to build towards a sustainable future for the next generation.
